How to Enter an IP PIN in TurboTax Online

Here are two ways to enter an IP PIN in TurboTax Online.

Follow these instructions to enter your IP PIN.

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account
2. Open or continue to your return if you don’t already have it open
3. In the search bar type IP pin (don’t forget the space)
4. Select the Jump to link in the search results
5. On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes. Select Add and enter your IP PIN in the space provided.
6. Select Continue, then select Done

Alternate instructions:

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account
2. Open or continue to your return if you don’t already have it open
3. Click “other tax situations” under the “federal” tab in the left side navigation panel
4. Click “show more” next to “other Return Info”
5. Then, click “start” next to Identity Protection PIN”
6. Answer “yes” to the IP PIN screen question
7. Select the person and Add the IP PIN
8. Select “continue”, then “done”

If you need to remove the IP PIN, select the trash icon.
